Behind the Scenes: Modern 1920's Photoshoot
Yesterday I had an awesome opportunity to help style a photoshoot with photographer Cameron Lee for a promo nonprofit Reason To Party event coming up. Along with Desiree and Evita on my team, we pulled modern 1920s dresses, accessories and shoes. It was so much fun working with our models Casey and Sarah. Good attitudes, vibe, music, pizza, and champagne got us through the day. Check out the behind the scenes pictures and stay tuned for the real images!

First Accessory Shoot!
My girls, Tia and Evita, and I have been needing more work to showcase in our portfolio. So we decided to do an accessory shoot with a "Coachella" concept with looks pulled together to wear during summer music festivals. We were inspired by bloggers who I believe are the trendsetters in fashion today. This is project is laid out as a six page spread that would be seen in magazines like Nylon, Teen Vogue, or Seventeen Magazine. Enjoy!

Currently.
I just recently started my last quarter at FIDM last week and have mixed feelings about the workload, in a good way! I'm trying my best to stay cool and calm throughout it all with careful planning and execution. I want to be able to build my portfolio throughout this quarter as well, for I have to present my final portfolio to a panel by the end of the quarter. This means I need to cram more side projects along with all my major projects in other classes!
I'm most excited for Fashion Styling because we have to do a team test shoot, individual shoot, and accessory shoot. I love hands on work because I feel like I learn much better and quicker, especially through mistakes that may come along. Look out for more posts regarding my styling class because I for sure want to record my first experiences through professional photoshoots.
I only have one side project currently in production which is wedding prints and small decor for my uncle and aunt who are getting married in August. They're a fun couple who enjoy the outdoors, including biking and snowboarding. They both are quirky and have and "Anthro" type of style which is very fun to work with. We are currently waiting on paper supplies to print from home and assemble invitations I designed in the passed few weeks. My uncle, who is also a photographer and videographer, also wants me to design a logo for him to include in his work. You can check him out at http://1derbreadpictures.com/. I'm excited to collaborate on future projects with him because working on his invites were so much fun!

DIY: Studded iPhone Case
I'm not really into phone cases for protection because I don't drop my phone much, but I love having crazy designs on my iPhone. Here's any easy DIY solution that you can make at a low budget and with open creativity.
I started with a bright green case that I got from Radioshack for $6. I'm pretty sure you can find a bunch of these in your favorite colors on eBay, which I plan on stocking up on! The studs were found at Michael's in the stationary section. These studs all came from the same pack for $4.99 and already have strong sticky adhesive on each one. You want to make sure to eyeball each placement of the stud so that you are able to fit them on. You can literally place them anywhere to your liking. I personally wanted a full studded case with the green still visible (which I picked because to follow the neon green trend!)
I plan on making more and possibly selling them! Stay tuned and enjoy your DIY!

Keeping Creativity Alive.
I thought I would share a great idea to organize inspiration through a trends journal. This idea was an actual assignment I had to complete for my Trends: Past, Present, and Future class that I completed last quarter. The idea is to collage images of trends that are seen through fashion, the environment, economy, society, technology, and everything in between. It's really just a great idea to have and keep for inspiration and resourcing. It's always a good idea to note where you found the image too. Here's some pages that I've collected in my journal:
Aside from Pinterest.com (which I love!) this is a great way to have a tangible resource to the things you like and it just feels personal!
